WHAT NOISE DOES A FAILING TRANSMISSION MAKE?

When you have a vehicle, there is nothing that can be more stressful than having an issue with it. Your transmission can cause a noise to occur in your vehicle and that can mean big trouble. Grinding

When you hear a grinding noise coming from your transmission it could mean that there is a problem with the planetary gear system of your vehicle. If this system has an issue, one of the first warnings it will send off is a whining noise. If it gets to the grinding point there is a major issue being suffered.

Gurgling

Fluids are extremely important to your vehicle. If you ever hear a gurgling noise come from your transmission that means the levels of the transmission fluid is too low. This noise only occurs when there is too much air in your transmission line. You will mostly hear this noise when you are shifting gears… and when you have low levels of fluid you can cause damage to your transmission.

Whining

If you ever hear a whining noise coming from your transmission it could mean a variety of things can be happening. If you hear this noise getting worse when you are driving in reverse it generally means your transmission fluid line is clogged. Whenever you have a clogged transmission line it is often a larger issue and needs to be taken care of right away. If you hear whining when your vehicle is in gear, it could mean that you are having a problem with your torque converter.
