WHAT ARE COMMON INTERVALS FOR VEHICLE MAINTENANCE?

Remembering how often your vehicle is due for a maintenance item can be tricky. Most vehicle owners are very well accustomed to regular oil changes, however some other important maintenance items may not be as clear. Here is a guide that will help you keep better track of when certain important services are due:

  • Brake Pads, Rotors, and Fluid - Have the brake pads and rotors inspection every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. Fluid needs to be replaced every 2 years.
  • Engine Oil and Filter - Needs to be changed every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.
  • Steering and Suspension - Inspect every 3,000 to 5,000 miles.
  • Battery - Have it tested every 3 to 5 years.
  • Cooling System - Inspect every 6,000 to 10,000 miles.
  • Headlights, Taillights, Blinkers - Inspect every 6,000 to 10,000 miles.
  • Transmission Fluid - Change every 25,000 miles.
  • Air Filter - Change every 40,000 miles.
  • Power Steering Fluid - Flush every 40,000 miles.
  • Spark Plug - Replace every 40,000 miles.
  • Timing Belt - Change belt every 60,000 to 100,000 miles, or when needed.

  • This guide is just meant to give you an idea of when maintenance items are needed, but often times you may need a service earlier than the given interval due to driving habits and frequency.
